I grew up in the back office of my family's electrical business in Newcastle. Mum did the books at the kitchen table, and every month she'd dread the same job: ringing customers who hadn't paid.

Most of them weren't dodgy. They'd just forgotten, or the invoice got buried. But those calls were uncomfortable, they took hours, and sometimes they cost us a good customer. Meanwhile we were waiting on thousands of dollars we'd already earned.

Years later, working in software, I kept hearing the same story from tradies, café owners and cleaners. So I built Nudge: the friendly, persistent reminder that does the chasing for you, in a tone you're happy with.
